Brighton Ki Society - introductory programme

Brighton Ki Society > introductory programme

Introductory Programme

This begins on the first Monday of every month and runs for 4 weeks. The course will help you to understand the basic concepts underlying our practice of ki and aikido and prepares you for participation in all of our basic-level aikido classes.

We will study the four basic principles of Ki, introducing a new principle each week or class depending on the overall class progress. These principles are applicable to daily life and are not limited to use only "on the mat."

To prepare you to safely participate in the basic classes, we will also learn proper stretching, basic exercises with which we begin our classes, safe falling and rolling techniques, and an introduction to basic aikido arts. Please e-mail or phone us to confirm your interest and pre-book onto this programme.

Each class will consist of 2 sessions:

  • 1st session - Ki Development
  • 2nd session - Aikido arts

For those that want to study only Ki Development they can attend just the 1st session of these classes (£4.00 per session)

For those wishing to study Aikido it will be mandatory to attend both sessions.
